Wedding Photography - What to Do When It Rains

Rain is absolutely most photographers' worst enemy!      Wedding photographers are always hoping for clear skies, warm light and soft inviting photographs.    We are often to afraid when the outlook for a day has clouds, rain, or fog.    But this absolutely shouldn't be something we feel unable to deal with if (and when) those days arise!      When it rains, or is foggy, or wet..  use that time to think in new terms when taking wedding photography.    Instead of looking to create "happy", "warm" and lighthearted images... focus on using the gray and dreariness of the day to exude mysterious, interesting and deeply connected photography.     Weddings are bright and happy times...  but also, truly, complex with great depth and emotional relevance.     If you encounter rain,  don't be afraid to use it to your advantage.    The grays automatically give your photos gravity... the dreary skies naturally make the slightest color more interesting.      Winter wedding photography can be some of the most rewarding and most alluring.   With the right attitude, a rainy wet day can become a much more real and honest glimpse into the union between two people.
